I’m eagerly expected by the elderly affected by insanity or dementia (PWD) to provide them the support they need in their daily life. With regards to my predecessor, which accompanied several frail people during more than 1000 days, I have a new look and offer many innovative services.

A new environment filled with strange sights, odours and sounds, a change in the daily routine, medications and tests, and the disease burden itself can all be factors that increase confusion, anxiety and agitation in a hospitalised individual with Alzheimer's disease.
The MARIO project has featured on the final Campus Passau magazine edition for 2015, specifically on page 26 - "Kompagnon der Zukunft" (Companion of the future).

As we approach the festive season many people look forward to meeting up with friends and family. Unfortunately for many older people and for people with dementia it become more and more difficult to maintain close contact with our circle of friends and family. This can make people depressed and can, in some cases, lead to an acceleration of dementia.
